I've spent 15 years inside banks, VC-backed fintechs and proptechs, and I've kept one rule the whole way: build things a banking institution can actually use. AI systems that run in production. Technology partnerships that survive contract renewals. Strategies that hold up when the compliance team, the board, and the core vendor all have opinions about them.

The AI work is not theoretical. I have built and deployed AI systems inside regulated financial institutions, more than once, and carried them through compliance review, model risk governance, and regulatory examination. Those systems are running in production today, with real users and real consequences. Most AI projects in banking never survive that gauntlet. Mine have.

I've sat on the bank side of fintech partnership evaluations, and in the room when bank leadership decides whether novel technology is a threat or an opportunity. I've watched that decision get made for the wrong reasons in both directions. That's usually where I'm most useful: when the demo looks great, the board is split, and somebody needs to say what actually happens next.

That dual-side experience, operator inside a bank and technology strategist facing out, is what Anvil & Forge Advisory is built on. I'm not a consultant who studied banking. I'm a banking operator who decided the most valuable thing I could do was help other institutions do it better.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Pepperdine University.

Away from the work, I live in Idaho with my wife Rose, a flower farmer, not kidding. When I'm not thinking about technology, you'll find me enjoying all things Idaho and cheering on Boise State University.
